Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) calculations are widely used to provide jutifications for fire engineered designs.

CFD Modelling

CFD models calculate the development of fire within your building design and the movement of heat and smoke around the building.

The results of these calculations can be used, for example, to determine the amount of ventilation required in the roof of an atrium to create a safe environment at the base of the atrium for means of escape.

A CFD model can also be used to justify a complex building design and the fire safety systems provided to Building Control and the Fire Authority.
